Interview With the CEO
The following content was graciously provided by the TwinWest Chamber of Commerce, based on their interview of Matt Meents as a finalist for the "Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year" award.
MATT MEENTS
RESIDE, LLC
Matt is the CEO and co-owner of Reside, LLC. The Minneapolis-based company was founded in 2001 and currently has 10 employees. Reside primarily serves local businesses with a wide variety of web-based offerings, which fall into two principle categories: Web development and online customer relationship management tools. One of Reside’s primary strategies for increasing company value is cultivating a unique entrepreneurial environment. Reside holds quarterly “Rockin’ Rallies” for its employees to discuss the company’s strategic plan, important news, and also announce the recipient of the prestigious “RockStar of the Quarter” award. Reside also hosts TwinWest’s Web site, www.twinwest.com. Matt lives in Minneapolis.

What motto or favorite quote is listed in your dossier?
"Family first, build trust, listen, and handle our clients’ needs with a sense of urgency!"
Which senior agent gave you the best advice you’ve ever received? What was it?
That is a tough one. My Dad told me to "treat people as you would like to be treated." My mentor at the University of St. Thomas, Dr. Cornwall, told me to focus after he read my first business plan that actually had eight business ideas in it! So, I would say a combination of both.
Other than your codebook, what’s the last book or magazine you read?
Good to Great by Jim Collins.
What one part of your pattern (your daily routine) couldn’t you go without?
My morning coffee, and listening to my iPod to get work done.
If you were offered a clandestine assignment in any location, where would it be?
Ireland—the people ROCK, the pints are fresh, and it is just a beautiful place to visit.
What one thing would you like to reveal, in print, to your employees, coworkers, family, or anyone else?
